The nephron is the kidney's minute or microscopic structural and functional unit. It is made up of two parts: a renal corpuscle and a renal tubule. The renal corpuscle is made up of a tuft of capillaries known as the glomerulus and a cup-shaped structure known as Bowman's capsule. The renal tubule grows out of the capsule.
